In partnership with experienced professionals, AlfaBeta also provides the technical equipment required to deliver a full simultaneous-interpreting service.

Our expert partners deal with the assembly and disassembly of the systems and offer technical support during the event itself, as well as additional services such as the recording of speeches and interviews.

Two types of services are available:
  • traditional systems (interpreter booths)
  • wireless systems (wireless translation or bidule).

The traditional system sees the assembly (either within the room where the meeting/conference is to take place, or in the immediate vicinity) of one or more booths for the interpreter(s). While this solution is more costly, it is essential in situations where the interpreters need to insulate themselves against noise and other disturbances.

The wireless (bidule) system is the standard solution for general simultaneous translation. This system is as effective as the traditional infra-red system, but is more versatile, because – since it uses radio waves – it does not require fixed workstations, cabling or even electricity. This is a more economical solution that is suited to situations in which it would be impossible or impractical to install an infra-red system.
